We all have our thoughts on the meaning of life....

A philosophy, such as it is....

A logical concept to guide us throughout....

As the old man who once told me his....

He wasn't the smartest of all that I met....

And far from the dumbest, I swear....

He kindly consented to give me his thoughts....

While a smile took the place of his glare....

"You want my philosophy? Best I recall,"....

He said, with a hitch of his britches....

"I fills up what's empty, 'n empties what's full....

'N scratch where it 'tis, that I itches!"....
