They said we’d forget when the eyes that were wet....
Were dry and a new sun had shone....
But somehow, they thought that the men who had fought....
For their loved ones were standing alone....
The thought must persist that their souls will exist....
In the hearts of the ones left behind....
Though mere mortals, they left a loving display....
That forever remains – to remind....
So deep in our hearts the commemorate starts....
For the servicemen felled in their duty....
And the war they made cease, brought a newly earned peace....
With their country preserved in its beauty....
May all of us pray, as we gather today....
That they now lead the good life – above....
And may we again touch their memories when....
We lay flowers petitioned with love....
And Jesus has shown what the people have known....
If a man must defend humankind....
He cannot be dead, whose body has bled....
For the loved ones that he left behind....
